Can anyone tell me how it is possible to run an application through TRACE
and consistently have no errors and yet R:Base crashes EVERY time I start
the app via an icon?

The only difference in the procedures is that I start RBG65.EXE via the
Windows RUN command, change to the correct drive and directory then type
TRACE appname [Return]  as opposed to the desktop icon running
C:\RBTI\RBWin65\RBG65.EXE d:\dbfiles\multidat\MultiDat.APP from the startup
directory: d:\dbfiles\multidat.

The app has been working fine from the icon for some time until I recently
changed the form that it runs so - obviously, you would think - that the
form is to blame but there seems to be no problem with it when run through
TRACE or from the Object Manager.

I have Norton's CrashGuard installed and the log file for the relevant
crashes gives the following:
