I never use screen savers. In my opinion they are unnecessary these days. Have never seen screen burn-in on modern monitors. Eliminate the overhead, and the headaches. Cute isn't worth it either.

Each time that it has run with the screen saver on it won't do anything until the screen is deactivated i.e. I supply the password so that I can use my system. This is running with the latest version of R:Base for Windows under Windows 2000. I thought maybe the e-mail client (Outlook 98 on my system) was required to be running when R:Mail is launched. Has anyone experienced this situation? If so, is there a workaround or configuration setting that I can adjust? I currently have a program that runs at 5:30 AM that uses R:Mail when I get into my office at 7:30 R:Mail is attempting to connect to the e-mail client. As soon as I turn the screen saver off R:Mail completes its job -- and not until. It works great as long as there is no screen saver on. Any thoughts?
