im not sure if you are able to do xor (bitwise exclusive or) in RBase, but if all you want is something to keep 99% of the people from reading it like you say, you can pick a number (0-255) and xor that against every character you want to encrypt.  Then to de-encrypt it, you xor the encrypted text by the same number and it comes out plaintext again.

If you wanted to get a little fancier (again i dont know if you can do this in rbase), you choose 2 numbers (0-255).  The first number is the xor number and the second is an offset number.

To encrypt-
for each letter in the text:
xor by number a
then add number b

to decrypt-
for each letter in the text:
subtract number b
xor by number a

or if you just wanted something simple you could just add a constant to all the letters in the text.

Hope this helps some

Subject: Simple Encryption

I'm looking for a way to encrypt a text file from within Rbase (RBW6.5++ 1.851).

Is anyone familiar with a callable UDF or DLL or other executable routine
that can do this?

The encryption scheme does not have to be extensive.  It only needs to prevent
the casual browser from deciphering content.

Any insight would be appreciated... Thanks!
