Printer Codes

Sorry to bug everyone with a dumb question, but...   Using Dos RBase, HP4 Laser Printer.   Have had this problem before & don't remember how it was solved, but I know it was printer code related.   Went to print this morning and all our reports which use a lot of lines print the lines as letters (M,D,:) etc.  I have tried every printer control code I can think of and nothing fixes it.   It has also messed up printing from windows.  The printer test page prints, but when I try to print out an e-mail, its garbage.    Any Ideas?   Thanks, Dick
