Looks like you may have more problems than I do.
As I posted before I get Rbase to crash by running at the R. prompt:
SET VAR xxx = (CVAL('UserDomain'))
However, it will run correctly under Windows 98, build 1.850xRT03

I just ran newstuff.dat and got the message: "Sorry! You are NOT running
6.5++ for Windows", but I AM... (both on WIN98SE and WIN2K and R:Base
6.5++ 1.851xRT03) ~Claudine :)

Subject: Sample program crashes

I have run into the following reproducible problem:
I start RBASE and change directories to:
\rbti\rbwin65\samples\newstuff
then, I run:
run newstuff.dat
I get several initial screens before I get to the main screen where I
select CVAL Functions and it brings a screen with several examples of
the CVAL function. All the examples work OK until I get to the option:
(CVAL('UserDomain'))
Then the program crashes (it does it regardless of the order I use to
get to this option) and I get the following error

Windows Header: Rbg65
Message: This program has performed an illegal operation and will be
shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
Plus the CLOSE and DETAILS buttons When I press the DETAILS button, it
displays:
