I do not if this will help but the choose command assigns the data type to
the variable. In fact the manual (Rbase 5.5 but still valid) indicates "do
not use a variable in a choose command if its data type is already assigned"
I wonder if predefining the variable vKidList is causing the problem. Have
you traced you program to verify that all your variables have the correct
data type and the expected value?

Subject: CHCKBOX Is this right?

After this:

SET VAR vKidList TEXT = NULL
   CHOOSE vKidList +
     FROM #VALUES +
     FOR (LJS(t2.Surname,22) & LJS(t2.Salutatn,22) & +
   LJS(CTXT(t2.DOB),12)),t2.PersonID +
     FROM AsocPers t1,Persons t2 +
     WHERE t2.PersonID = t1.Assoc_PersonID +
     AND t1.PersonID = .vPersonID +
     ORDER BY t2.Surname,t2.Salutatn +
     AT 7,45 +
     CHKBOX +
     TITLE 'Linked Kids' +
     CAPTION .vModuleName +
     LINES .vKidCount +
     FORMATTED

This:

   INSERT INTO TempPersonNewBatch +
     (Surname,Salutatn,ParentGuardian,DOB, +
     HireEnqID,PersonID,Sex,CheckValue, +
     PersNumb,PoGPersonID) +
     SELECT +
     Surname,Salutatn,'Y',DOB, +
     .vHireEnqID,PersonID,Sex,'Y', +
     .vUserID,.vPersonID +
     FROM Persons +
     WHERE PersonID IN (.vKidList)

returns the error message:

Column SYS_COMM must be compared to INTEGER values (2042)

vKidList is set to 32075,32074

Please someone, put me out of my misery, what am I missing here?

Warmest regards,

Tom Grimshaw
