To All R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++) Users:
It is my pleasure to inform you all that two additional CVAL functions have
been added to the upcoming in-line patch-3 for The Glorious R:BASE 2000
(ver 6.5++) for Windows and The R:edoubtable R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++)
for DOS, Build:1.859xRT03, to be released as "Release Candidate" for
private beta testers, very shortly.
Among soooo many Enhancements, New Commands and Bug-Fixes, two
new CVAL functions are:
(CVAL('Error Variable')) -- Title says it all.
(CVAL('Last Error'))
This is an alternative to the current ERROR VARIABLE system of -ERROR-
trapping. Something more along the lines of an error variable which must be
EXPLICITLY CLEARED.
Why? The current system does not allow error trapping in nested code
segments or large blocks of code. Furthermore, since the -ERROR variable
is automatically cleared after each command, it requires error trapping
logic immediately after each command.
These two new CVAL functions will help those Loyal and Current R:BASE
Users/Developers who are running very complex and mission critical R:BASE
applications!
May you all enjoy the hard work and dedications of our talented Dream Team!
The best is yet to come ...
Very Best Regards,
Razzak.
P.S.
