Bernie, I completely agree with you.  If it's only installed on one
machine, it shouldn't interfere with anyone else's access to R:Base.
The R:Merge.cfg (in C:\WINNT on my PC) shows multi is ON (must be the
default, I didn't change it) so how does it log into R:Base as a single
user on your network?  Does it connect to R:Base via ODBC? On my PC, I'm
able to have R:Merge open and connected to a DB and still open a couple
of instances of R:Base also connected to that same DB and R:Base reports
that 3 users are connected... ~Claudine :)

It is installed on only one workstation.  This workstation is connected
to
the file server.  The R:Base at this customer is an 11 seat license, but
the
R:Merge is only a single user license.  What is stopping the connection
to
the database if the single user R:Merge is connected?
