Hi Tom, I'm sure I must be misunderstanding your problem but - just in case I'm not - I presume you have the child _data_ you want defined in one of the break _headers_ on your report. If so, can you not set the line of data to be one concatenated and formatted variable with a leading component that is increased or decreased according to the relationship with the preceding line?
Sorta: IF preceding line = parent THEN add 2 to vIndentVar ELSE decrease vIndentVar by 2 You then end up with: vLineVar = (.vIndentVar + .vData1 + (format(.vData2)) . . . ) and print vLineVar on your report. I haven't tried it but it sounds like it might work, Regards, Alastair. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom Grimshaw" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, November 11, 2002 9:58 PM Subject: RE: Indented Accounting Reports > G'day, > > Thanks to all who responded on this thread. > > As Albert has addressed, the issue is with the indenting > rather than the sorting. > > I will post what we end up using. > > At 14:19 11/11/02 -0500, you wrote: > >Tom, I think you need either page mode or a reporting table for this > >arrangement, if you want to keep it properly indented.
