Damon, What a GREAT way to kick off the Holiday Season and prelude to the 2003 R:BASE Developers' Conference in April.
Thanks for your kind generosity! Sami Aaron, Bill Downall and Harlan Haynie, thanks for sharing the responsibilities of Emcee duties for the 2003 conference. Very Best Regards, Razzak. At 01:32 PM 12/8/2002 -0600, Sami Aaron wrote:
Damon, Damon, Damon - What a way to kick off the start of the RBTI Holiday Season! For those not at last year's conference, Damon watched over all the Project Bundle-Up donations - they totalled $1,500 - and were matched by RBTI for a total donation of $3,000 to this great program sponsored by the Salvation Army. Their annual auction is managed by R:BASE and RBTI - check them out at http://www.wepasa.org/bundleup/bundleup.html. In addition to the events Damon lists below that required donations (Duhs, OMG's, politics, shameless ads), any reference to sports teams or sports analogies would also cost big bucks ($0.25). There there were those "Challenge" donations - and they really got the pledges going! To get the ball rolling this year, I'll begin tracking donations as of today - with the final totals announced at this year's conference, April 4-7, 2003. For those not able to attend, you can send me your donations any time before the conference, checks made payable to The Salvation Army Project Bundle-Up. FYI - Emcee duties for the 2003 conference will be shared by Bill Downall, Harlan Haynie and myself - feel free to contact any of us for ideas and suggestions. so, Damon - You're down for $100 - thanks! I have noticed that I haven't seen too many $ .02 worth on the list. The children in Monroeville may be a bit chilly, so I want to mention Operation Bundle Up. This is a pet project for Razzak and RBTI, and we always raise money for this at the conference by charging $.25 for Duhs, and OMG's, they really DID that's, and any political speach. In the past, we also charged $1.00 for self-serving plugs and promotions. Whatever is raised, RBTI matches that amount to double the contribution, and it is forwarded to Operation Bundle Up. So, in that spirit, and all of the information we get from the list, let's start saving a bit at home to bring to the conference for Operation Bundle Up. For the poke in fun at my friend Razzak, and his fantastic Dream Team, I'll start the pledges at $100.00, in the spirit of the season. Damon Damon D.
