The work around I did was to created a temp table containing the first select data. Then I insert the second select into the temp table with the totals to get the column alignment right with the dashes! then I do a third select on the temp table for output. I've not found anything that I couldn't do with Rbase (as long as you have a little imagination)! Just wanted someone to check me! My guess is that the FORMAT function converts the value to TEXT which of course can't be summed. I ran into this a long time ago and my work around was to do the original SELECT without the sums; write the dashed lines; then do another select to get the sums with the headers turned off.
