popup menus work. They are not as nice as combo boxes, but they do work.

I have a scrolling region which will have 45 or so objects in a detail table in a one-to-many form. For three fields, I need the functionality of a DB Lookup ComboBox, populate and pick from a text field in a lookup table and return an integer to the underlying table's field. I successfully use this in the header table.
For example, one field is truck_type, an integer, the truck_type_desc is in another table. Truck_type might be '22' and the corresponding description is 'flat bed'. I want to click on 'flat bed' and have it return '22'.
I cannot place a DB Lookup ComboBox on a scrolling region. I can place a
Variable Lookup ComboBox but it doesn't show up after I save the form so I
assume it's also not allowed (it doesn't generate any error messages).
Is there another way to do this? Any suggestion to get me going again?
TIA
