Thank you to
All of you who sent suggestions on this.....
I'd reloaded
this form from a backup and the "Auto-size" which I'd removed once was in the
old version...which was problem number one.
David's
suggestion regarding Snap to Grid was the other part of the equation. I
didn't set this, so it must be a default when the forms designer comes up.....as
it was set on. So I turned it off, and removed the "auto-size" setting
from the form (which also appears to be a default, as I seem to have to turn it
off when I design forms).
With your
suggestions implemented, everything works great!
It's so
wonderful to have you all as a resource....this was just driving me crazy....and
now it's better.

Subject: [RBG7-L] - Re: Sliding Labels
I have found that setting Autosize off cures this problem.
I don't recall seeing anything on this, so I must be doing something wrong.
I have a number of forms where this has been an issue. I place dbedits on the form for fields in the table. Next to each dbedit is a a static text label that names the field, to show the user what data is to be entered in the field.
I've been experiencing the labels "sliding" under the dbedit fields. Everything looks fine when I save the form. When I open it again, either in design mode or in run mode, the labels have partially slid under the dbedit fields so that the end of the label is not visible.
The DBedit fields never seem to move, nor do labels within containers (such as an enhanced group box).
So, most recently I tried using the Anchor and Lock features for these labels. Each of them had a default of top and left anchors without my doing anything, so I anchored them on all four corners. Then I locked the objects.
When I next opened the form, (All of these fields are on an enhanced tab page) virtually all of the labels had DISAPPEARED altogether.
I moved the DBEdit fields around, to see if the labels had slid under them, but I can't find them on the form. However, if I use Layouts>Objects List>Standard Controls, all of the labels are listed, and I can click on them and bring up the property box.
I need to a)find the labels. and b) keep them stationary so they don't migrate when the form is being used.
Any help would be appreciated, this is driving me crazy.
