You said it works sometimes. Have you
tried another keyboard? Frank From:
I have a client who is running an RBASE 7 (build 75)
database on a Windows ME platform (don't get me started, but it came with the
computer and they never changed it). I have a form that is used to update contact records with a
series of phone number and zip code fields. These are DBEdit fields in
the form with a format mask. This works perfectly on both the Windows XP Pro
and Windows 2000 systems I have here when numbers are entered via the number
pad on the keyboard. When the user with Windows ME tries to use the number pad it
works SOMETIMES. More often, if she types 617 (area code) the cursor
jumps to the end of the field when she enters the "1". It goes
to the beginning of the field if she types a "7" In other words, although the NUMLOCK key is on the system is
behaving as if it is off using the 1 as the END key and the 7 as the HOME
key. If she uses the numbers on the top row of the standard keyboard, the
numbers are entered correctly. My initial reaction was that it was a keyboard problem, but
the number pad works fine in Excel and other software. It's only using
the Rbase forms where she's having problems. I can update her to Windows 2000 if that's ABSOLUTELY
necessary, but that's a lot of work if I don't need to do it, particularly
since they'll be buying new computers soon. She's a fast touch typist and
does a lot of data entry, so using the numberpad for entering numbers is
important. Has anyone run into this? That is if anyone is running
on Windows ME (Bill Gates should be horsewhipped for ME). Paula Stuart 70 Summer Street 617-776-3367 617-388-1331 (Cell) ____________________________________________________________________
