Are the files small enough that you could load them into a temporary table with 
a note field?  If so then you could use the SRPL function within the note field 
before you put it in the live table/field.

How about opening that file in RBEdit and then [Shift+F7] to Search and
Replace using the following features:

. Options
. Direction
. Scope
. Origin
. Replace All
