Adrian: Perhaps many of your international issues could be solved at one time with a new option: SET DBSETTINGS OFF | ON. If the setting is left at ON (which would be the default) settings (Date, Time, Currency, NULL, etc) would be stored in the database as is currently the case. If the setting is left at OFF, the settings would neither be saved nor loaded from the database. The individual application would be responsible for setting up the environment. This would allow you to have different workstations attached with different settings without worrying about one user "trampling" on another's settings, and you could leave the DB settings themselves as appropriate for Oterro connections. -- Larry
