If you are going to put your music on the computer, you should look at
Musicmatch. I think it costs $40 or less on line.

I have a pc hooked to my stereo system and have burned all of my CDs on it.
Pick any format you like, with high quality. I like MP3s. Burning vinyl to
digital tracks tacks some attention to make sure it breaks between tracks.

Sorry to respond so late but we've been out of town for a few days.

Easy hookup. Phono to amplifier. Headphone out to line in on the PC.

Jay,
How do you connect it to your computer?

If you're interested, and you may well not be, I've converted over 100
LP's
onto CD's over the last two summers. That's what we old folks do when it
rains. They sound good. A lot better than when heard on a vinyl. I use
Magix Audio Cleaning 2005. Easy and good. Only 325 to go with all of
them
on a R:Base system.

I still play my vinyl's while on the treadmill in the basement.
I will probably continue until my turntable fails or the needle wears out.
So if you perfect your "RMusicVinylToUncompressedDigital", please send me
a
copy.

So, uhm, Mike, you've had what, 10 minutes since the subject came up?
You must be about done with the new plugin
"RMusicVinylToCloseToUncompressedDigital"?

Just kidding, Mike. Thanks for the advice.

Can I recommend that when you convert the music that you do not store
it in a compressed format. Since storage is so cheap ( I have a 4
disk IDE/Firewire box of about 800Gig capacity w/ less than $800
invested), when ever I store this type of media, I keep it as close
to uncompressed as the copying technology will allow, then I compress
it for transfer in an appropriate to use size..

Also, since some of your stuff is going to have some defect, you
should work on removing the hiss/pop stuff at the uncompressed level
anyway....
