Sami: You are exactly right. I appreciate Javier's suggestion. It does work. I thought as a workaround I might put the OPTION WINDOW_STATE MAXIMIZED into a variable and simply append that to any BROWSE commands but that didn't work either as "." or "&" variable. So I think I will go to RDCC and enter it as an enhancement request.

Mike - why don't you submit this as an enhancement request? If it can't be set could some please at least explain why it can't be maximized by default. Granted, it's not a big deal to do an Alt-spacebar-X to maximize or click on the maximize button but then you have to do it every time you use the browser. I currently prefer to work from the R> for most of my work and it's a minor inconvenience to have to maximize the window each time. "Inquiring minds want to know." Thanks for any input. Mike Ramsour
