Hey all - This week is just busy enough that I don't really have the time to do a full-blown State of the List Report (SOTLR).
But, there are a couple of recent trends which I'd just like to mention - not because they are particularly egregious, but rather because I'd hate to have it seem like a non-response might suggest tacit approval. Primarily, I feel it is important to maintain the focus of this list. As has been stated since the outset, the RBW list is "dedicated to the discussion of Rivendell Bicycles and products, you don't need to own one - just an interest in RBW designs is enough to join in. Ride reports encouraged, as is a respectful, supportive and polite tone in all posts." This isn't really the place for "OT" posts. Secondly, it makes things easier to follow if we try to keep on topic. If you want to talk about a tangent of the original post, creating a new discussion thread helps everyone keep things straight - as well as making the topic easier to find when searching the archives. This is different than just changing the "Subject" line and replying. Because of the way the Google Groups software threads responses, you really need to either create a new email or start a new topic if accessing via the web.
