I've not used the 50 mm Big Apples, but I have used two pairs (559 and 622) of the 60s, and for rough, they are wonderful tires -- very heavy, but they roll very well (even, on my 45 mm rims, at 12/14 psi! This on pavement; dirt, goes without saying.) and they are wonderfully puncture resistant: they shrug off most, not all but most, goatheads, even. Note that the only other tires I've ridden that were goathead resistant rolled like a manual eggbeater in cold molasses. And, the BAs, at least the 60s, have a very reflective sidewall strip.
A tangent: can anyone compare the rides and flat resistance of the BAs with other Schwalbe utility tires?
