Thanks, Hugh. Not sacrilege to me at all. I did seriously consider a 29er+ 
or fatbike, but the reality is that I was so greatly under biking with my 
50mm Dureme tires and set up that with the knobbied Smart Sams I've got all 
the bike I need. When it comes to the drum brake question, I'm not sure how 
serious the need is, but wanted to explore the question since a new front 
wheel build is on the horizon anyway. The number of times brakes have been 
an issue is very small, as it take stye right circumstances for the usually 
pumping to not clear the system enough.
