Agree with Bill's question: what is your saddle height? That is likely the 
reason they recommend 51. Did you talk to Brian? If not definitely give him 
a call, he's the Hunq guy, and can steer you on sizing. I normally ride 52 
- 54 bikes and went with a 48cm Hunqapillar which I initially resisted, 
caved, and haven't looked back since I got. Especially for mtn biking where 
you don't want too high of a standover. My concern was not enough top tube, 
but its been perfect for me. Can't speak on the tire size, except to say 
that I got 2 wheel sets with the Hunq: one with 2.1" knobbies and another 
with road 1.75" tires, I love the versatility, and will likely get another 
26" frame to put the other wheels on when not in use. Kind of the opposite 
scenario, but same reasoning. Tough decision, good luck!
