Johann - no problem with up or down as long as it isn't in reference to direction you are pushing the wrench, like the other suggestion of "down for out". Down with the wrench to the front or back? I suppose with a bottom bracket your wrench is facing the front of the bike, as the other orientation doesn't work as well.
