People always seem to need a uniform to wear for some reason. Tweed could be nice, I guess. Me, I'm still stuck in the hippie 60's and pre- disco 70's. I was already a cyclist then, and I just wore whatever I had that seemed comfortable. I still do to this day. Of course, my kids think I look like an idiot, because the younger generations are much more consumerized than I ever was. They have to have the right clothes, the right brands, etc.
I ride a lot, almost strictly as a road bike rider, and I only have two items of genuine cycling clothing... a pair of shorts my wife bought for me at a Salvation Army thrift store, and a cycling windbreaker that came later from the same store. Sometimes, I wear them. I think that some of the stuff Rivendell sells would be great though. But please, don't bother looking for this idiot at either tweed rides or roadie group rides.
