Notice how, in the case of the carbon fork he says:   "we don't
recommend that you ride the fork after this amount of damage" but
doesn't say that after hammering the steel fork.   I think that's
because he knows what we all know:  that you could well ride that
steel fork, safely, with those dents, and not worry about it
spontaneously imploding.
