I use Hetres at 50psi on my 52 Blue Sam with P45 fenders, raised as far from the tire as the frame allows with mounting from the fender tab on the front fender, and mounting the fender directly to the eyelet under the seat stay bridge with a bolt.
I am hoping to put Loups on for my next set, as they will allow more clearance under fenders. It is pretty tight. Most would probably think it is ok, and it has been great, but I like lots of clearance. I also have a Bleriot that I have used Hetres as well as Loups on. The Loups feel plenty cushy at 45psi. Allows much more clearance under the fenders than the Hetres did. I think the Hetres get me 1cm all around, the Loups get me a lot more. *So, I think both tires have a comparable ride quality at these pressures, but just decide if you like more clearance under fenders or not. Disclaimer: I weigh about 175lbs. I don't know how they will feel in another weight class and at different pressures.* The Cypress will allow massive overkill fender clearance. I had them on my Sam for a short time, and they were nice at 50 or 55 psi, if I remember right. But you won't get as good ability to road through cracked roads with tires that narrow, from my experience But again, all these tires are great. I like them at low pressures. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
