Reviving an old thread that I found useful last night...

I managed to mount the Nitto Mini rack to a Hunqapillar fork that, because
of brake shudder, requires the Tektro brake hanger that mounts to the fork
crown. The rack and the hanger need to coexist in the fork crown hole.
However, the hanger changes the angle of the rack such that the stays
don't align with the fork's braze-ons (not even close)

This was my solution:

Step 1: Dremel out the recess in the Tektro hanger so that the "knuckle" on
the Nitto rack's mounting stud recesses into the Tektro hanger. The toothy
washer is still required behind the brake hanger.
Step 2: Put the rack into a bench vice and trim the mounting stud by maybe
50mm
Step 3: Find the shortest recessed allen nut you can (from an old sidepull
brake), trimming it with a hacksaw if necessary. This will replace the
nylock nut that comes with the rack.
Step 4: Test fit. Bend the rack's mounting stud a bit allowing the stays to
better align with your fork's braze-ons or p-clamps. It shouldn't take
much bending.

Done!

I considering doing something with a Mark's rack but I already had the
Nitto Mini and am happy with the results.
