Patrick, I'm no bike thief, but I think pitlocks are more secure seeming than a cable. As for a u lock, just because of the number of them, there are a lot of them defeated because that is what thieves specialize in. It would be a bear to tackle pitlocks and I would imagine most thieves would move on to what they know.
