Thanks for the update.  The reservation system works really well here in 
SoCal on the Pacific Surfliner.  It takes away the "what if" factor of 
getting on the train.  The Surfliner is set-up a little differently in that 
the bike truly is just rolled on.  There used to be that vertical placement 
arrangement as shown in the photo.  Raising the bike to vertical gets a bit 
exciting with a touring bike with panniers when others are trying to board 
the train.  But it sure beats boxing & the constraint of specific 
stations.  Over time I hope we see lots more of this service.
