We used two of these to get through a heater-less winter a couple of years 
ago (1200 sq.ft. house).  They were rated the most efficient at the time 
(2-3 years ago).  They also shut off when the room hits temperature.  One 
of them is currently heating our 300 sq.ft. cottage very effectively. 
 Remote is convenient... when you can find it.
