The grips are one of my favorite details of my Clementine. They were a bear to put on until I swished some rubbing alcohol around in them. I also poked a hole in the ends with an awl. I hope yours did not meet with some kind of tragedy.
With the success VO has been having with the Rustines, it might make sense for Riv to offer these classic style grips--with the combination of the ribs and the anatomical ridges, it looks more American style to my eye. But I love the Rustines, too. I have a pair in white and a pair in gum on my mixte and fixed gear bikes. Excellent.
