Four of us rode 135 miles from Davis to San Francisco via Napa, Sonoma,
Petaluma, Fairfax and Sausalito on the day after Thanksgiving. Despite
forecasts of 50-90% chance of showers, we never got rained on, and in fact
enjoyed fantastic Fall weather.

I was riding my 8-speed (Sturmey Archer IGH equipped) Quickbeam, which
performed very well. It was a hard ride, but I couldn't say that the
"inefficiency" of the IGH made it any harder than it would have been on a
"regular" geared bike. Certainly easier than on a fixed gear--especially the
nice, 35-mph downhills.
