I worked a couple of bikes through handlebar swaps and got apparently got a
little carried away with shellacking, but didn't notice/care for about a week.
Tried denatured alcohol and it sorts of worked for some thicker spots, but the
thinner areas are giving me grief. Now it seems like the removal process is
dulling the paint in the frustrating area.

So what do you use to remove shellac?

Is there a wax or polish that people use to protect or restore paint on bikes?
Also, I do get the beausage thing. Battlescars and stuff I can abide, but this
is just sloppy work on my part.
