I've used both. The Promenade are much smaller and narrower, so it's either a rider and bike size issue. Or a personal preference. I'm big 5'11" and had them for a while on my 58 Betty and loved them. I didn't enjoy the Boscos on the Betty as much, but had all versions on the Hunqapillar for a while.
Right now, I prefer the Ahearne long MAP on the Betty. No Boscos for me at this time.
