Steven, thanks for this recommendation to Race Metalsmith. Their web site showed some very hi end work and a chat with them yesterday morning convinced me they are the way for me to go. And he sounds competent to convert the frame from CP to cantis. It also looks like it will only be half the cost of shipping the bike back to Bilenky in Philadelphia. I'm even considering splurging on a two tone job, maybe doing the fenders & racks in British Racing Green and the frame in a popsicle orange.
