That is really well written. Sounds like an LA-centric type surprised to find something so interesting out there on the edge of civilization. But good natured enough about the whole experience to admit being under-equipped; either too light tires or not enough tubes. They sound like a fun group who has been introduced to a whole new area. "Adventure ride" is the perfect description. I like Mark's comments at the end, too.
