The DB was a low end aluminum framed, cheap susp fork model that retailed IIRC for $400 when it first came out -- late '90s or early '00s? It has plastic twist grip shifters pulling a stamped steel, riveted no-model-name Shimano rd over a 7 sp freewheel. Very definitely a cut below even the middish level MB-3.
The almost 27" tall Maxxis Ikons fit on the Bridgestone, but not under the front fender at the fork; I'll have to hack it there. The MB-3's bb is 1/2"/almost 13 mm lower than that of the Race Lite, so I'll keep the MB 3 and sell the RL frame, Bomber fork, bb, King headset, and CF Bontrager crankset with external bearing bb. I will probably regear to a 2X9 or even a 1X9 -- Catie won't be grinding up any steep hills; so I'll need either a 38 t or a 34 t middle ring. The inner is 24 (outer is 48). 38/24 X 9: 26.75 38 24 12 85 14 73 15 68 43 16 64 40 17 60 38 19 54 34 22 46 29 26 39 25 30 34 21 Or 34 X 9: 26.75 34 12 76 13 70 14 65 15 61 17 54 19 48 23 40 28 32 36 25 On Sat, Apr 30, 2016 at 4:38 PM, Joe Bernard <[email protected]> wrote: > Ah, that explains the nice parts..them -3s are great bikes.
