I really like the mondials. These are the 700c x 47, but to my eye
(haven't measured) they seem narrower than the 700c x 45 bitumens that
came with the bike. I've been riding these mondials for a couple
years, I think. I don't put in that many miles, but they have barely
worn. I get flats with these, but not as many as with other tires
(smart sams, others).
 I tend to ride in areas with thorns.

One time I had switched to another pair of tires (not schwalbe) and
was going down my home hill. The light turned red, and I discovered
that I was not going to be able to stop before the light. The tires I
was riding were just not as sticky as my mondials. I had to make an
emergency right at the light to avoid going into the intersection. I
got rid of those tires and went back to the mondials. It was a very
good reminder that not all tires perform the same and that it's best
to go slow on unfamiliar tires.
