Good to know. I hadn't seen that one before.

Steve,
Since the cassette selection was from the predefined list, it should be available. See here:

That page claimed a couple left. biketiresdirect.com <http://biketiresdirect.com> claims to have it in stock also. Now I need a nice crankset. If it comes off backorder, the Compass René Herse Triple Crank might work well.

        Steve,
Thanks for the info. I guess if I go back to a triple, the
granny gear would be nice. A 10 speed 12-30 with 24-34-44
seems to have a decent range.

http://www.gear-calculator.com/?GR=DERS&KB=24,34,44&RZ=12,13,14,15,17,19,21,24,27,30&UF=2200&TF=90&SL=2.6&UN=MPH

I'll keep playing with this and with whoever does the build to
make sure it can all work together.

Indeed, triples can be very nice. But, like everything else,
there's a good side and a bad side. Bad sides include triples not
working nicely with integrated brake/shift levers, shifting
difficulties (e.g., dropping chains, missing the middle ring,
etc.), greater q factor, and for some people excess complexity. Also, if the chain rings aren't well chosen you can throw away the
advantages in range and end up with more complication and nothing
    to show for it.

As for the triple you point to: that ratios on that setup are very
much to my liking, the range fitting my needs very well. But does
that cassette actually exist in the real world? I'm not aware of
    a 12-30 10 speed cassette.
