Prior to selling my lovely Ahearne I managed to score a near perfect
Quickbeam frame and fork. The previous owner had the paint bead
blasted off (the original QB orange), then made the effort to
carefully sand away most of the surface colour irregularities in the
steel. The result is really sharp. The build took some time, as I had
to collect the parts from various sources. You'll probably guess where
much of it came from by looking at the build list. John at Rivendell
was kind enough to send me the old style decals for the bike. They'll
go on in the next few weeks (after I build up the expertise and the
courage to apply them). I took the 'beam out on it's maiden voyage on
Christmas eve. It performed beautifully. I love the cush of the Jack
Brown tires and the quiet of the drive train as I pedal along.
