On a recent thread I posted that, having built up one of each, the only difference between the Betty Foy & the Cheviot was the paint job and the name. Someone replied that the Cheviot had longer chain stays. I have finally gotten around to measuring all the bikes in our stable, including my daughters new Cheviot. Here's what I recorded, measure from the center of the BB to the center of the drop out.
Saluki - 445mm (this is a very early model) 63 CM, 650B wheels, Ram - 445 ( Early Blue) 62CM Betty Foy - 450 (Demo, last one out the door) 55 CM Cheviot - 450 (last of the last Orange batch) 52CM And for good measure: 1984 Trek 620 60 CM 450 Bilenky custom touring tandem - 460 & 26" wheels I haven't measured my old Marinoni stage racing frame, nor the SOMA Dbl Xcross in the basement.
