Mine is a '97 Road Standard (exact same lugs and fork crown as yours), and
it fits 130 mm hubs without any jamming required.  Mine had a 7s freewheel
when I bought it, but on a 130 mm Phil FSA hub.

Riv Catalog 3, current for my era of Road Standard, says 130 mm spacing for
the rear.  I agree that yours is either custom, a rare production model in
126, or it's been re-spaced from 130 to 126.

There does seem to be some variation among these early bikes.  For example,
my frame (like all Road Standards) was specified for short-reach (39-49 mm)
brakes.  However, my bike can barely clear a 700 x 28 tire whereas some
Road Standards fit a 32 mm tire.
