I suppose I took the shipping price too literal compared to another online store where I figure I'm paying postage and that's essentially it. Packing is a pain no doubt, I thought those costs may be accounted for in item prices to some degree as well. I typically use shipbikes.com and have shipped bikes all over for around $100, box from local shop is $5-$10, pipe insulation and time. I've not personally witnessed their packing but I hope to soon and will appreciate the effort.
