A couple of people have posted that they have run 32 mm tires on a Rambouillet. I have run 30mm tires with 35mm SKS fenders and Shimano long reach brakes. It was a very close fit using Grand Bois 30mm tires. What brand tires have you used to do this? It seems the height of the tire is the limiting factor so a round tire would work better then a tall oval shaped tire. I have thought about experimenting with the wide mouth brakes to see what is possible. Another thing I have wondered about is rims. Does a wide rim give a lower profile to the tire then a narrow rim? My current wheels are built with Open Pro rims. I would be very interested in hearing how you made this work and what type of fender/tire clearance you had. Larry Powers Get a bicycle.
