yes, on my Salsa Casseroll shod with earlier Shimano BR long reach front brake, a 28mm tire would come very close to hitting just underneath the brake. On that same bike with Race M installed, the clearance was quite a bit bigger and no issue with 28mm Conti 4000 on Velocity A23.
