Congratulations on the new Ram. I owned a 58 for a couple of years, and it
was a very nice handling/feeling and versatile bike; mine too was blue and
could handle 35 mm Kojaks and fenders.

And ain't the Dirt Drop stem the thing for getting bars high? I used a 10
cm to get the Noodles high enough (about saddle level) on a 20" c-c
mountain bike with head tube cut off about the top of the top tube; and
there was room to spare on the DD quill.

I built mine with "compact" doubles: first a 44/30 Pro 5 Vis with 14-23 7
speed, then with a very pretty 52/38 Dura Ace 7410 crank pulling a 16-27 or
so 9 speed, both with Silver dt shifters.

Let us hear about your rides.
