You know Addison I think I need to add a couple of thoughts here regarding
one bike to rule them all theme. I'm with you on the notion of pairing down
for sure, the more n+1 the more maintenance and clutter. But more important
is the clutter and whether the bikes in the stable are ideal for the
terrain you ride, essentially do you ride the bikes you have? This topic
has popped up time and time again on the list so I'm adding nothing really
new here other than my perspective after years of riding. I'm in the
process of shedding bikes and consolidating too, basically I think there is
no bike that does all things well. I'm moving into the realm of n+1 with
specific use intended rigs. Your Della Santa hits one of those specific
uses I'm after a spirited road bike capable of hitting some dirt.
Personally I want something with fatter tires. For just getting out and
doing a fitness ride before work I always grab my 1984 Trek 660 with campy
Veloce build running 28mm (here I wish I could run 35mm) and I love it. The
next bike will be built around a 650b x 48mm.

On the pictures, I loved all the pictures that's what we bike nerds want to
see right! Lot's of pictures to Oogle at. Thanks for the post.
