Yep, the upper MS valley area is awesome to drive or ride Marc !! The area between La Crosse and Red Wing is what I am most familiar with. There are tons of routes inland. We lived near there and visited often, once you get a open vista to the river and valley it takes the breath away indeed. In the fall the Leidel's roadside apple stand has the some incredible apples you'll never find in a retailer, and there are orchards all over SE MN.
