Hub: Schmidt's biggest advantage would be proven weather sealing. Otherwise, the SP hubs seem to perform very similarly to Schmidt hubs at a fraction of the price.
Light: Edelux has a metal housing, IQ-X has a plastic housing with a metal plating. IQ-X claims to be brighter. Both can be mounted upside down. Charging: Separate USB charging adapters are available from B&M, Sinewave, and others. However, I suggest that you consider getting a B&M Luxos U light. Riv doesn't carry them any more, but they are still available. The Luxos U has a USB charging port built in, and its light beam is wide and bright. The Luxos U does have some cons: the plastic casing is ho-hum, the wide reflector in the beam shows "artifacts" (visible lines and such), and early models reported problems with water intrusion (supposedly addressed in the more recent models). Also the Luxos U doesn't offer upside down mounting. The big pro of the Luxos U is that it gives you a light *and* USB charging for less than the price of the Edelux or IQ-X. I have Luxos U's on two bikes and they've performed great for three years. The one on my 'cross/gravel bike has taken a lot of abuse. I have the light mounted to the handlebar and it has gotten knocked around when I've wiped out on singletrack. No breakage, no problems, it just keeps on working.
