It's new bar day here, this is a brand new Jones Loop with 2.5 inches rise. I
ordered a few weeks ago and they finally shipped, so this may be the first
review anywhere.

Wow, what a neat design! I was mostly happy with the stock Boscos on my eClem L
after lopping off a couple inches, but I still felt a little light in the front
at the speeds this thing can reach, like I needed my weight a little more
forward over the front wheel. I had no idea what stem I would need so I ordered
just the bar, thinking I would line it up with the Boscos and make a decision
then. It turns out I have one 31.8 stem, a shorty 6cm (in atrocious black), so
I grabbed my trusty V-O quill-to-threadless adapter and put the blocky bit of
atrociousness on top and mounted the bars.

As you can see in the photos I'm using up a good bit of useable space for e-kit
bits. Not an ideal usage of the design, but I'm happy with the remaining room
in the grip areas. I purchased Jones' long Kraton grips, but I could tell right
away they're much too large in diameter for my itty-bitty hands. I decided to
test the bar with my favorite small Ergons so I wasn't adapting to two things
at once.

It was very comfortable - if a bit far away as set up, I moved the saddle
forward a smidge - and I felt much more "in the bike" and in control than with
the wayback Boscos. Honestly you could duplicate it with the original Riv Nitto
Bullmoose, but I didn't like the fixed angle available with that bar.

I definitely prefer the slightly industrial look of Loop over Bosco on this
bike. The curved-bar step-through frame combined with 3-speed-style bars
creates - to my eye - a graceful 'dutch bike' look that's almost TOO elegant.
Clem was intended to be a utilitarian knockabout bike, hence the decal "a tough
bike to love", and I think this bar brings more of that out.

It's a good thing I didn't guess on a stem before trying the bar. The 6cm Block
Of Terribleness is too long! I figured I'd be ordering a quill stem with open
31.8 faceplate from V-O, but they don't make shorties so I'm getting a 40cm
silver Thomson threadless from Jones. I hadn't planned on sticking with the
threadless adapter combination, but the industrial vibe works with the bar so
I'm rolling with it. I also ordered the narrower-diameter silicone grips, so
hit me up if you can use the black Kratons I bought.. they're the shorter style
for 660mm bars. I'll pass 'em on for cost of shipping.

And now..pictures!
